i just finished throught chapter 4: lists lol

everything seems to be working off
print()

but i dont exactly understand how this leads to 'programming' stuff or games or little apps etc. im probably still a long ways to go but im having funning following along with the book that was recommended here
If you're doing Python, you could do some Pygame tutorials at the same time and see.

I used to do that a lot, just to sort of go through the motions and practice thinking about design.
If you're looking to do anything with games, a good place to start would be to make your own math library, with vectors, points, addition, matrices, etc. It's not very complicated so the design and implementation won't be super tricky. But having one of those is very convenient.

I'll wait for DR to confirm but I'm guessing the implication is that someone or something paid to get the article out there (because there's an OA fee or something, which can be fairly expensive) which also brings into question how rigorously it was reviewed?
Are you saying that the peer review (something that is not paid for and it's generally done on a voluntary basis) would have been worse because there's a publication fee?

If you can afford to live without working, you're wealthy. In the US, if you can afford a medical emergency without ending up in crippling debt, one could argue that you're rich.

Of course if you compare to someone working a gig job like Uber and barely scraping by, affording luxuries like concert tickets seems rich.

Do you have concrete examples and evidences of such cases?
Because in western countries it is the opposite. Meat is consuming more water than vegetal proteins.

https://waterfootprint.org/en/water-footprint/product-water-footprint/water-footprint-crop-and-animal-products/
Particularly in dry places where it takes a lot of water to grow good, but cattle can graze vegetation that humans can't digest. I'd expect various regions around the equator to have such conditions.

I came across a thread by an American agricultural researcher on Twitter where she was talking about this - how there's a portion of vegans who don't understand that part of their privilege is living in relatively wet parts of the world. The thread was years back so I won't try and look it up, but she posts a lot of interesting things, her name is Sarah Taber.

There's also the argument (that doesn't apply to you) that in certain parts of the world, meat is a lot more sustainable since they have to optimize against water usage rather than greenhouse gas emissions. Of course it becomes a delicate issue when food is so ingrained into people's cultural identity, and then certain groups of people are already subjected to various forms of oppression.
